Reports on possible SCOTUS replacements

Posted by David Hardy · 3 June 2007 10:46 PM

Here's the story, on ABC News. No idea how reliable the story is -- it could be no more than rehashing old news.

I do wish someone would look outside the ranks, for really first-rate constitutional law folks, regardless of liberal vs. conservative standards. William van Alstyne, Akhil Amar, Glenn Reynolds, Gene Volokh, Randy Barnett, etc.. First rate people who have proven themselves in the field of con law.

[Update: title corrected. It was originally "POTUS replacements."]

Me thinks the headlink suffers from fumblefingers.

Shouldn't that be "SCOTUS" instead of "POTUS"?

Freudian slip, perhaps.

To be honest, I was hoping W would resign after his enthusiastic endorsement of Amnesty. Its going to be long year and a half

Bush said he wants to appoint a "woman or a minority". Personally I would settle for the best possible candidate.

Do jews count as a minority? Or is being able to succeed on your own merits a disqualifier?

I would totally support Janice Rogers Brown. I found her whiter shade of pale essay to be outstanding.

Pick me! Pick me!

I'll even get a sex-change operation. I'm really a lez trapped in a man's body, anyway.
