Media response to Ohio override
The legislature passes pre-emption, the Gov. vetoes it, the legislature overrides him by a comfortable 2/3 majority in each house.
The Morning Journal says it's time to take it to court.

Home Rule but only as long as the rules are what the media want.

Philadelphia tried the same home rule argument to get out of Pennsylvania's preemption law. If I recall, the courts ruled that because of the state constitutional issues involved with the right to bear arms, it was appropriate for the state legislature to reserve only to itself the power to regulate guns within The Commonwealth. Hopefully Ohio cities will have about as much luck as Philadelphia did here.

True enough, Sebastian, but isn't there more? Aren't the cities administrative units of the state, in a way that the states aren't of the federal government?

In any case, "We know what's best for you...Sit down, shut up, and go back to work..."
Don't you just love the liberal eliteness ethic?
