There's also the matter of the disingenuous appellation "cop killer bullets". Does it mean bullets explicitly designed to kill police? Bullets that had penetrated ballistic armor and killed police? Any bullet that could theoretically kill police? Or much like "assault weapons" in several states, a narrowly defined class of armor piercing bullets today, only to be reinterpreted to include all rifle ammunition after people have gone back to sleep?
